Apple House at Woodheath
Apple House is a specialist dementia unit with 19 bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms. There are two lounge areas and a separate dining area, as well as our very own Apple Cafe. We have a full care team as well as a dedicated Apple House Kitchen Assistant making fresh home made cakes every day. The unit opened in November 2009 and was built based on the latest dementia needs research; incorporating colour schemes, decorations, wide open corridors and cosy seating areas.
We have wonderful landscaped gardens which are located directly outside our lounges for our residents and their families to enjoy.
Our Staff
All staff are qualified to NVQ 3 standards and have specialist training in dementia care, N.A.P.P.I. (Non-Abusive Psychological & Physical Intervention) and individual activity needs.
Catering
All our food is homemade, and high in protein and carbohydrates. We cater for individual needs and provide a 24 hour snack service.
Facilities
On site laundry facilities for independent personal belongings supported by staff.
Activities
We provide daily activities based on support and independence which are designed to enhance stimulation, relaxation and reminiscence.
Visiting
Visiting is open and mealtimes can be shared with family and friends.
